SBWWI is a trade association representing members' opinions to clients and other bodies. The Society's activities extend to functions such as representation to Regulators, Government Departments, input into standards-setting, training of operatives, contractual and procurement practices, and public relations in its widest sense to inform the public of the importance of its members' activities.
The Society is governed by a Management Committee, who decide on Society policy, monitors its development, agrees future strategy and is responsible for the finances.
The Society is divided into two main Sections, Technical Commercial and Marketing.
