New Industry Group formed on Private Sewers
The transfer of private sewers will be the biggest development in the water industry since privatisation - SBWWI has convened a Forum with other stakeholders in the industry and is represented by SBWWI, Water UK, PIG, NSA, UKSTT and EUSkills. The Group aims to identify and address all relevant issues arising from the proposed transfer and understand the expectations of all parties. Its intentions are to:
influence the process through regular dialogue with DEFRA, the Regulators and the Water Companies through the relevant Steering Groups and other lines of communicationclearly communicate all relevant information and encourage wider discussion through a series of roadshows, workshops and individual meetingsgain a clear understanding of the procurement requirements of the WAScs and facilitate discussion within all levels of the supply chainprovide smaller drainage companies in particular with an opportunity to participate fully in the process
